Having the same issue. For the last couple of days it said that the limit will reset on Jan-18, now it's Jan-20 and it says I need to wait till Feb-18! |

I'm having the same problem. Limit says it was going to reset on the February 1, now it's saying March 1. This is obviously not fixed yet |

I am also facing the same issue, despite my Github Account verfies my active student status and Github student benefits, I am getting limit exceeded error for Copilot in Vscode. I have tried reinstalling and relogging in to Copliot extention, but facing the same issue. Edit: The issue got solved, after re-verifying for my Github Student benefits, I did not reapply to Github Copilot which was required to be applied separately, after doing that the issue got resolved. |

I have been waiting until today for my limit to reset, because it previously said Feb 4, but now it's saying I've reach the limit until March 4, and I did not use any of my credits today. And I just realized it did the same thing last month. I've been waiting months for this to start working again but it keeps claiming I've used the limit when I never even had the chance to use it. It's like it keeps getting pushed back a month. |

I am also have this problem with the free plan (not student); the notification box says my limit will reset on March 31st, nearly two months in the future. |

Hi everyone, We’re sorry to hear you're experiencing issues with Copilot Free. I’ve escalated the matter to our product team internally and will ensure we provide you with an update as soon as possible. If you are a verified student, could you please go to the pack offers page, scroll down to the "All offers" section and select Copilot, if you can redeem it you are fine, if you can't, I suggest you to contact support again by raising a ticket here, select "I am a verified student having trouble redeeming my Global Campus offers" and explain your problem.

I have this issue. I first used the service at the start of Jan and used up my completions in a couple of days. It said wait until 31st of Jan for it to reset. I just realised that it never was, it still says it has been used, and now tells me to wait until 31st of March. That is 3 months of waiting for a reset. |

Github is starting to look more an more like those microsoft support threads where they either send you on a wild goose chase or never fix the issue on their end |

If you check the meta bot here it is autoclosing reports of anyone mentioning they have free limit reset issues and directing users to the wrong issue. As mentioned by @octo-badger https://github.com/orgs/community/discussions/149578#discussioncomment-16218387 The bot has autoclosed over 1000 issues and has directed several hundred reports of 'free limit did not reset' to the wrong issue. This suggests the extent of the problem is not fully being logged. |

Everyone whose quota isn't resetting should create a support ticket (they just close bug reports): UPDATE: see @pblivingston 's post: They've managed to get resolution within 1 day by raising a support ticket with the title "Quota reset failure" and selecting categories corresponding to "Copilot billing" and "Usage quotas". My similar ticket has been sitting 4+ days seemingly unread, so no guarantees. |

More than a year later. This bug is still not addressed. |

I am also getting this bug. My code limit was meant to be resetting yesterday or today. I don't know what to do about it. If the support people see this, please fix or tell me how to myself. Thanks. |

Same problem here, before I was using Copilot Pro and never got this problem, I think it is an expected behaviour from GitHub... |

Still this bug is not resolved. My free subscription it was supposed to be reset yesterday - March 21st, 2026 -, and today the message is that the account will be reset on April 21st without using it... The same happened last month, when on February 21st should be reset too... |

A year later I'm having the same issue. Paced myself to use ~90% of my quota by the day before "monthly reset" date, and the next day the date pushed back a month, but my usage staid at 94% used.... |

Today, or one of the recent days, my quota was reset and it's working properly. |

Well, the only way I got it to reset was support tickets... you need to raise a ticket, then it may give you a AI solution, just scroll down and Continue, and wait... |

Mine was fixed a couple of days ago - FYI, the engineer said they've found
the bug and fixed it so it SHOULDN'T happen again.

I subscribed to the GitHub Copilot Free Plan on December 18, 2024, and fully utilized the code completion limit for the month. Afterward, I disabled the Copilot plugin to avoid using the service until my limit reset. I did this until January 20, 2025, when I expected my monthly limit to reset and for me to be able to continue using Copilot.
However, upon re-enabling the plugin on January 20, 2025, I received the following message:
This is unexpected, as I did not use any part of the service. The message suggests that my limit reset will only happen on February 19, 2025, which seems to indicate an error in the system’s calculation of my reset date.
Expected Behavior:
The monthly limit should reset on January 19, 2025, based on my subscription start date, especially considering I did not use any code completions during the new month quota of January prior to the reset.
Actual Behavior:
The system is incorrectly calculating the reset date as February 19, 2025, and showing the message that I have reached my monthly limit.
Additional Notes:
Could you please check why this discrepancy is happening and adjust my limit reset date accordingly?
I hope you will work on resolving the issue so that it does not appear to users.
